- Members shall direct their activities to the mission, goals and objectives of WSMGMA, which are to elevate through education the competence, standards and knowledge base of all members.
- Members shall not misuse information disseminated in association publications, meetings, workshops, seminars or other association functions. Misuse includes representing WSMGMA information to other persons as having been authored by or originated from any person or organization other than WSMGMA.
- Members who also sell products or services shall not utilize information obtained at association functions such as meetings, workshops or seminars for their personal financial gain, including solicitation of such products or services at any time during the conduct of association functions.
- Members shall conduct themselves in a professional manner, maintaining a high standard of professional integrity and ethics.

Which Category of Membership Do I Apply For
To be eligible as an ACTIVE member of Washington State MGMA, a person shall be: An individual who is directly employed in management or administrative support services an entity formally organized to provide or facilitate the provision of healthcare services An individual employed by a management organization, hospital/hospital system, practice management firm or other business entity responsible for managing any operational component(s) of an entity providing healthcare services. This includes consultants who are responsible for operations of one or more practices on an ongoing basis. Healthcare providers/clinicians who hold an active license in the state are also considered Active members. Note: Active Members who are engaged in the sale of products or services to health care organizations are prohibited from soliciting other members unless they also retain a separate Business Associate Membership.
To be eligible as an Affiliate member, a person shall meet the same eligibility requirements as an Active member, except that the employing medical group practice is outside the State of Washington. An Affiliate member shall be entitled to all Association membership services, except the right to vote on all matters and the right to serve as an officer or trustee of the Association.
Recognizing the invaluable contributions that managers from large systems make to our association, this program provides deep discounts to organizations willing to support their extended managerial team in MGMA activities in our state. To be eligible as a Vendor Affiliate member, a person must be providing service or a product (as determined by the Board) to current Active Member groups or the like within the state of Washington. A Vendor Affiliate member shall be entitled to membership services as reviewed and determined by the Board, except the right to vote on all matters and the right to serve as an officer or trustee of the Association.
Faculty Member is a person who holds a full-time faculty position teaching business or healthcare administration at an accredited college or university. Faculty Members shall not pay dues. Faculty Members are eligible to attend Washington State MGMA sponsored conferences and meetings at the member registration rate. Faculty Members are not eligible to vote or hold office.
The Association offers Student membership to those individuals who are pursuing a healthcare or business-related degree at an accredited institution of higher learning and does not qualify for any other member category. Individuals that qualify for Active, Affiliate or Vendor Affiliate Membership are exempt from Student Membership status. Student members shall be entitled to all association membership services except the right to vote on all matters and the right to serve as an officer or trustee of the Association.
A Retired member is a former Active member of the Association who permanently retires, and is not in the business of selling services or supplies to medical group practices. Retired members are required to pay dues at half that of the active membership rate. Retired members are eligible to come to the Washington State MGMA sponsored conferences and meetings, however, they are expected to pay full registration costs. Retired members are not eligible to vote or hold office.
