Washington State MGMA Member Code of Ethics
- Members shall direct their activities to the mission, goals and objectives of WSMGMA, which are to elevate through education the competence, standards and knowledge base of all members.
- Members shall not misuse information disseminated in association publications, meetings, workshops, seminars or other association functions. Misuse includes representing WSMGMA information to other persons as having been authored by or originated from any person or organization other than WSMGMA.
- Members who also sell products or services shall not utilize information obtained at association functions such as meetings, workshops or seminars for their personal financial gain, including solicitation of such products or services at any time during the conduct of association functions.
- Members shall conduct themselves in a professional manner, maintaining a high standard of professional integrity and ethics.

Membership Eligibility and Fees
Active - $130
Active membership in the Association shall be restricted to a) an individual who is directly employed in management or administrative support services by an entity formally recognized to provide or facilitate the provision of healthcare services; b) an individual employed by a management organization, hospital/hospital system, practice management firm or other business entity responsible for managing any operational component(s) of an entity providing healthcare services. This includes consultants who are responsible for operations of one or more practices on an ongoing basis, or c) healthcare providers/clinicians who hold an active license in the state are also considered active members.
Note: Active Members who are engaged in the sale of products or services to health care organizations are prohibited from soliciting other members unless they also retain a separate Vendor Affiliate Membership.
Large Group Membership Program
Recognizing the invaluable contributions that managers from large systems make to our association, this program provides deep discounts to organizations willing to support their extended managerial team in MGMA activities in our state. Members must qualify for ACTIVE membership.
$1,000 for 10-14 members (up to $820 savings)
$1,750 for 15-19 members (up to $720 savings)
$2,500 for 20+ members (best value)
Vendor Affiliate - $595
To be eligible as a Vendor Affiliate member, a person must be providing service or a product (as determined by the Board) to current Active Member groups or the like within the state of Washington. A Vendor Affiliate member shall be entitled to membership services as reviewed and determined by the Board, except the right to vote on all matters and the right to serve as an officer or trustee of the Association.
Affiliate (Out-of-State) - $130
To be eligible as an Affiliate member, a person shall meet the same eligibility requirements as an Active member, except that the employing medical group practice is outside the State of Washington. An Affiliate member shall be entitled to all Association membership services, except the right to vote on all matters and the right to serve as an officer or trustee of the Association.
Student - Fee Wavied
The Association offers Student membership to those individuals who are pursuing a healthcare or business-related degree at an accredited institution of higher learning and does not qualify for any other member category. Individuals that qualify for Active, Affiliate or Vendor Affiliate Membership are exempt from Student Membership status. Student members shall be entitled to all association membership services except the right to vote on all matters and the right to serve as an officer or trustee of the Association.
Transitional - $130
A Transitional member is an Active or Affiliate member who becomes unemployed, who has been a member for at least six months, is in good standing with the Association at the time the unemployment occurs and whose unemployment is not the result of illegal activities on the part of the members. Transitional members shall have the right to attend state conferences at the same registration fee as Active members and shall receive all other benefits afforded to Active Members. A Transitional member is eligible to renew his/her membership once for a one-year period after the expiration of their Active or Affiliate membership. Upon reemployment in group practice administration, the Transitional member shall notify the Executive Director of such employment and must immediately reapply for membership to the appropriate membership classification. If employment is found outside of group practice administration, the Transitional Member shall notify the Executive Director of such employment and the Transitional Membership shall terminate immediately.
Retired - $65
A Retired member is a former Active member of the Association who permanently retires from group practice administration, ambulatory health care organization, or multi-unit health care system, and is not in the business of selling services or supplies to medical group practices. Retired members are required to pay dues at half that of the active membership rate. Retired members are eligible to come to the Washington State MGMA sponsored conferences and meetings, however, they are expected to pay full registration costs. Retired members are not eligible to vote or hold office.
Faculty - Fee Waived
A Faculty Member is a person who holds a full-time faculty position teaching business or healthcare administration at an accredited college or university. Faculty Members shall not pay dues. Faculty Members are eligible to attend Washington State MGMA sponsored conferences and meetings at the member registration rate. Faculty Members are not eligible to vote or hold office.
